Defence Minister Khawaja Asif posted on X (formerly Twitter) that, since the Taliban takeover in 2021, 3,844 soldiers and civilians have been martyred and 10,347 incidents of terrorism have occurred.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Asif gave a detailed review of government efforts in Afghanistan since 2021, saying, "The foreign minister visited Kabul four times; the defence minister and the DG ISI made two visits each; the special representative for Afghanistan and the foreign secretary made five visits each; and the national security adviser made one visit. The joint committee met eight times."

The defence minister said that the Pak–Afghan relations included 225 Pak–Afghan flag meetings and the handing over of 836 protest letters. Afghan diplomats were summoned 13 times over border violations.
Asif said there has been no positive response from Kabul despite five years of efforts and sacrifices. He accused Kabul of becoming a proxy of India and claimed the war against Pakistan had been imposed by India, Afghanistan and the TTP together.
He added that Kabul’s rulers were now in India’s lap and conspiring against Pakistan, and that many Afghans had used Pakistani soil for shelter until recently. Pakistan can no longer afford relations with Kabul as in the past, he said, and all Afghans on Pakistani soil must return to their homeland.
Asif said Kabul now had its own government or caliphate and that five years had passed since an Islamic revolution there. He warned that Pakistan must treat Afghanistan as a neighbour, that Pakistan’s land and resources belonged to 250 million Pakistanis, and that the time had come to end five decades of forced hospitality.
He said there would be no more protest letters or appeals for peace and that Kabul delegations would not go. He warned that wherever the source of terrorism lay, a heavy price would have to be paid.
