Adviser to the prime minister on political affairs, Rana Sanaullah said on Sunday that the issue of Balochistan would not be resolved unless the crisis was properly understood.
In a statement, he said peace required collective effort and that what had happened in Balochistan in the past could not be changed, but lessons could be drawn from it. Sanaullah said peace and development in Balochistan were a priority, adding that without recognising the scale and nature of the crisis, a solution would remain out of reach. He said terrorists, acting at the behest of Pakistan’s enemies, targeted innocent people, and that those who killed civilians brutally had no link to humanity. He added that the Baloch were patriotic Pakistanis and that terrorists had no connection with them.
He said security forces were ensuring law and order under Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad. He added that people in other provinces had always prayed for Balochistan. Referring to the attack on the Jaffar Express, he said there were scenes of celebration in India, adding that India was behind acts of terrorism and had suffered defeat in the battle for truth.
