A woman and an agent, among five suspects, have been arrested for running a human smuggling network involving the United Arab Emirates-bound tourist visa.
A organised human smuggling network has been exposed in Karachi. The FIA Immigration carried out the operation. During the FIA Immigration action at Karachi airport, a woman was arrested for travelling to the United Arab Emirates for immoral work.
The woman, a resident of Faisalabad, revealed that she was recruited under the pretext of employment at a massage centre, using a tourist visa. Through contact on Facebook and WhatsApp, she was lured with a monthly salary of Rs150,000 and taken abroad.
She stayed in Karachi, and the visa and ticket were arranged by a facilitator living in the UAE. Evidence including gang members’ chats, voice notes, and financial transactions was recovered from the suspect’s mobile phone.
A married couple who were travelling abroad with the suspect have also been arrested. On the suspect’s identification, sub-agents and a driver present in the airport parking were also detained.
The suspects have been handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle. Further investigation is ongoing.
