Air quality in Lahore has shown a clear improvement, with the air quality index (AQI) recorded at 170 in the morning.
According to details released on Saturday, pollution has been effectively controlled through AI-based monitoring and GIS mapping. Punjab senior minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said the smog control room is fully operational.
"Continuous surveillance is being carried out through drones and CCTV. A zero-tolerance policy has been implemented against smoke emissions from brick kilns, industrial units and vehicles," said Marriyum.
She maintained that immediate legal action is underway against those who violate the rules, adding that the field teams are active and the government’s aim is to maintain improved air quality throughout the year.
