Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) booked two senior bureaucrats of Punjab in the case of illegal appointment case during the tenure of former speaker of Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.
Muhammad Khan Bhatti, former Principal Secretary to the Punjab chief minister already been booked and arrested by ACE.
Punjab's current Secretary of Excise and Taxation and former director general of E&TD were named in the case.
The anti-corruption team of Lahore Region registered a new case and arrested former Chief Minister Pervez Elahi on Sunday.
Sources claimed ACE named Parvez Elahi in the case of appointing Muhammad Khan Bhatti as Principal Secretary.
Former Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Muhammad Khan Bhatti, former Secretary Services Punjab Muhammad Masood Mukhtar, and former secretary coordination Dr. Asif Tufail are now named in the anti-corruption FIR.
The FIR states: “According to Punjab Rules of Business, Muhammad Khan Bhatti could not be appointed Principal Secretary”.
It is pertinent to note that on July 27 last year, SAMAA TV pointed out the illegal appointment of Muhammad Khan Bhatti.
“PA employee was not eligible for appointment to the post of Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and former secretary services and former secretary coordination to CM approved the appointment,” FIR stated.
The FIR stated: “Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi illegally appointed Muhammad Khan Bhatti as Principal Secretary for political interests.”
