The Punjab Higher Education Department has issued an important clarification regarding holidays in educational institutions.
According to the department’s spokesperson, there will be no extension of holidays for colleges in Punjab; the winter holiday extension will only apply to schools.
The statement clarified that colleges and universities will not be affected by the extended holidays and will reopen as usual from January 12.
It is worth noting that to improve students’ health, the holidays in Punjab’s educational institutions were extended by one week. Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat stated that the decision was made based on a public survey shared on the Minister’s social media page. After public consultation, educational institutions will now reopen from January 19.
The decision was made considering the severity of the weather and students’ health.
