In view of the expected snowfall in Murree this week, “Mission Safe Winter” has begun.
A comprehensive digital and field security framework has been put in place for the safety of tourists. Visitors have also been urged to avoid unnecessary travel during snowfall.
The district administration and police authorities have ordered the entire force in Murree to remain on high alert from January 17 to 21. Additional personnel have been called in due to the possibility of heavy snowfall. Senior officers will remain in the field, while a real-time monitoring system for sensitive roads has been activated through Safe City cameras.
Police officials said travel to Murree will remain under a modern monitoring and response system. Patrolling has been strengthened on steep roads and in landslide-prone areas. Tourists have been advised to keep one window slightly open if a vehicle becomes stranded to prevent a lack of oxygen, and to contact 15 immediately in case of an emergency.
