Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir hosted a grand dinner in honour of Pakistan’s political leadership, steadfast commitment of armed forces, and the resilience of the people of Pakistan demonstrated during Marka-e-Haq, Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.
The event, held at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, brought together the country’s top civilian and military leadership. The gathering was graced by President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, the Senate chairman, National Assembly speaker, key federal ministers, governors, chief ministers, and senior leaders from major political parties.
High-ranking officers from the Pakistan Army, navy, and air force were also present, along with government officials and diplomats.
Defining moment for national unity
The attendees paid rich tribute to the wisdom and resilience of Pakistan’s leadership during what was described as a defining moment in the nation’s history. Participants hailed the armed forces for their courage and sacrifice, and lauded the unbreakable spirit of the people of Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, COAS Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed deep appreciation for the strategic foresight of the political leadership during Marka-e-Haq and "lauded the seamless inter-services coordination that ensured operational success".
Youth, media, diplomacy praised
The army chief also acknowledged the pivotal role played by Pakistani youth and media, praising them as a “steel wall” that countered the disinformation campaign and propaganda launched by India during the conflict.
He further applauded the professionalism and resolve of Pakistani scientists, engineers, and diplomats, whose efforts, he said, proved critical during the conflict.
"The evening stood as a powerful affirmation of national unity and the collective resolve to advance with renewed strength and cohesion," the ISPR statement said.
