The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released a promotional video ahead of the upcoming T20I series between Pakistan and Australia, which has revived debate on social media over the ‘handshake’ issue.
The promo is widely seen as an indirect reference to India’s refusal to shake hands with the Pakistan team at different events, including the Asia Cup 2025. In the promo issued by the PCB, a man presented as an Australian visitor arrives in Pakistan to watch a match and is shown receiving warm hospitality.

He is taken to the food street near the Badshahi Mosque in Lahore, where a table is laid with a large variety of dishes. Visibly concerned, the Australian asks who will pay for such an extensive meal.
He is informed that the bill has been paid by “Agha Ji”, who is seated at the next table, because “you are our guest”. When the camera turns to Agha Ji, he is revealed to be Pakistan’s T20 captain, Salman Ali Agha.
Another scene shows the Australian travelling in a taxi, where the driver refuses to accept the fare, saying that no money is taken from guests. The visitor appears pleased by the gesture. However, as he prepares to leave without shaking hands, the same driver reminds him: “You forgot the handshake. It seems you also stayed with the neighbours.”
The first match of the three-match T20I series between Pakistan and Australia will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium on January 29.
