The prices of gold and silver in Pakistan and globally witnessed one of the biggest hikes in history on Wednesday, taking the rate of the metals to an all-time high. The price of gold in Pakistan also crossed the historic Rs500,000 landmark.
For the first time ever, the price of 10 grammes of gold has also surpassed Rs410,000.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24-karat gold increased by a massive Rs12,700 per tola, reaching Rs506,362, as global rates rose amid steady investor demand.
The price of 10 grams of gold also climbed by Rs10,888 to Rs434,123, according to the APSGJA.

The price of 10g of 22-karat gold increased by Rs9,981 to reach Rs397,960.
Precious metals have reached record highs due to strong buying by central banks in several countries and ongoing geopolitical tensions worldwide.
In the international market, gold prices increased by $127 per ounce to settle at $4,840. The uptick reflects sustained global interest in precious metals amid economic uncertainty and shifting currency trends.
Silver followed a similar trajectory, with the price per tola of 24-karat silver rising by Rs64 to Rs9,933. The price of 10 grammes of 24k silver hiked by Rs54 to be sold for Rs8,515.
