Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan directed on Thursday the National Highway Authority (NHA) to keep national highways open for traffic during the weather conditions as snowfall has been reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to details, the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) president has ordered NHA field staff to remain on alert in view of the snowfall and said the situation on highways would remain under 24-hour monitoring.
The federal minister said the restoration and maintenance of traffic on national highways in upper areas remained the top priority. He added that in the event of road closures, citizens should contact the NHA without delay.
The NHA has issued contact numbers for public assistance in case of snowfall-related issues.
