Egypt’s Finance Minister, Ahmed Kouchouk, has praised Pakistan’s progress on economic reforms, particularly in the tax sector, during a meeting with Pakistan’s Finance Minister, Muhammad Aurangzeb, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The two ministers discussed the promotion of Pakistan-Egypt bilateral cooperation and the value of learning from each other’s reform experiences. Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said Pakistan was actively moving forward with its reform agenda.
The Egyptian finance minister commended the pace of reforms, with special reference to improvements in the tax system. He also expressed interest in visiting Pakistan, according to an official statement.
Kouchouk said both countries possessed valuable experience in carrying out reforms and stressed that sustained contact and dialogue were essential for mutual learning.
Both sides agreed to maintain regular communication, appoint focal persons, and hold another meeting in the future.
