A 68-year-old man has died from the rabies at Mayo Hospital in Lahore on Thursday.
The hospital officials said the patient, Hashim, was bitten by a stray dog about one month ago. He remained under treatment at the Mayo Hospital after developing symptoms of rabies.
The officials said the patient belonged to Muzaffargarh, where the dog bite took place. The doctors said the patient developed symptoms associated with rabies.

A private laboratory test confirmed the rabies infection, doctors said. The Health experts said rabies can cause inflammation of the brain and carries a mortality rate of about 90%.
