Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said that the targeting of hospitals and medical centres by the United States is a war crime and a highly condemnable act.
Baqaei claimed that a children's cancer hospital in Ahvaz had to be evacuated after a US attack. The spokesperson said that 211 children receiving chemotherapy were moved immediately to other medical centres after a US strike near the hospital.
He also said that countries and organisations that claim to defend human rights remain deliberately silent when hospitals and healthcare facilities are targeted.
No official response has so far been issued by US authorities on the claim.
