The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued a river situation update at 1pm, highlighting high and rising flood levels across major rivers in Punjab.
According to the NDMA, the Ravi River is witnessing severe flooding. At Shahdara, an extremely high flood is recorded with 192,400 cusecs and a steady flow, while Balloki faces a very high flood at 146,995 cusecs with rising waters. At Jassar, a medium flood of 84,060 cusecs is reported with falling flow.
The Chenab River also remains under strain. Marala is experiencing a low flood at 112,440 cusecs with a steady flow, while Khanki is under a medium flood at 184,934 cusecs. At Qadirabad, the situation is more severe with a high flood of 196,483 cusecs, though the flow is falling.
The Sutlej River is among the hardest hit. At Ganda Singh Wala, an extremely high flood of 287,384 cusecs is reported with a rising flow. At Sulemanki, a medium flood is ongoing with 113,124 cusecs and a steady flow.
Authorities have urged residents of low-lying areas to remain vigilant and follow safety advisories as floodwaters continue to threaten villages and farmlands across Punjab.
