After the Islamabad tragedy, the security in Punjab was placed on high alert.
The Lahore CCPO has instructed that special security measures be taken at imambargahs, mosques and other religious sites.
CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana has directed that excellent arrangements be made to protect the lives and property of the public in markets and other public places. He also ordered that monitoring of the city’s entry and exit points be further tightened.
The CCPO said supervisory officers should remain active in the field and continue regular monitoring. "Police teams should pay special attention to hot-spot areas, and the Safe City Authority should continue to monitor highways and other key locations."
The CCPO urged the public to immediately report any suspicious activity to 15 or the nearest police station.
