Following his commanding gold medal win at the Asian Athletics Championship in Gumi, South Korea, Pakistan’s javelin ace Arshad Nadeem continues to receive accolades from across the country — with Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan joining the chorus of national praise on Saturday.
“Alhamdulillah! Once again, Pakistanis are proud,” wrote the senior politician and president of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) in a message on X (formerly Twitter), celebrating Arshad’s throw of 86.40 metres that secured Pakistan’s only medal at the championship.
Calling the victory “a moment of honour and pride for the entire nation,” the federal minister highlighted the added emotional significance of Arshad’s win over Indian athlete Sachin Yadav, who finished second. “Defeating an Indian athlete is a double joy for Pakistan,” he said.
