Strong winds and overcast skies have turned the weather pleasant across Lahore, with dark clouds plunging the city into daytime darkness.
Thunderstorms and heavy winds have affected multiple districts of Punjab. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued alerts to all Deputy Commissioners and rescue services across the province.
All District Emergency Operation Centres have been placed on high alert. The PDMA has advised residents to stay away from electric poles and dangling wires.
The Director General of the PDMA has urged the public to remain in safe places to avoid the risk of lightning strikes.
– Multiple LESCO feeders trip due to strong winds –
Several feeders of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) tripped as a result of strong winds across the city.
According to LESCO officials, restoration work will begin once the weather improves.
In the event of a power outage, residents are advised to notify LESCO and wait for staff to arrive.
Officials have urged the public to stay away from electrical installations during rainfall.
