Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain has claimed that approximately 200 Indian soldiers were killed in recent strikes by the Pakistan Army.
He made this statement while speaking to journalists on the occasion of "Youm-e-Tashakur" (Thanksgiving Day). Celebrations were held in Sharaqpur, where citizens danced to the beat of drums and fireworks lit up the sky. Across Pakistan, a jubilant atmosphere prevailed as people paid tribute to the Pakistan Army for what they called a decisive and successful operation.
"Following Pakistan’s powerful military response, India had requested the United States to mediate a ceasefire. The US, responding to India's appeal, conveyed the ceasefire request to Pakistan through friendly nations," said Hussain.
"Pakistan has delivered a lesson to a country that claims to possess seven times our military strength," said the minister. "Even future generations of India will remember this humiliation," he added.
"Peace talks between India and Pakistan are expected to be held in either Qatar or the United Arab Emirates (UAE)," he added.
He also criticised the Indian media for playing a shameful role in fuelling hostility, while commending the Pakistani media for responsible and fact-based reporting.
