Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has revealed that India attempted to provoke the Sikh community in Indian Punjab against Pakistan following a failed missile attack that saw three of its own missiles fall within Amritsar.
Speaking at a press briefing, Dar said India launched four missiles late last night—three of which landed in Amritsar, the capital of Indian Punjab. The fourth missile entered Pakistani airspace but was intercepted and destroyed, with its debris falling in the Dinga area of Pakistan.
Dar claimed that instead of accepting responsibility, the Indian government blamed Pakistan for the incident. He accused New Delhi of trying to manipulate the situation to incite anti-Pakistan sentiment among Sikhs, aiming to divert attention from internal unrest and growing dissent in Indian Punjab.
“The people of Pakistani and Indian Punjab share deep respect for one another,” Dar stated, warning that “the lives of Sikhs in Indian Punjab are now endangered by the Indian government’s reckless tactics.”
He said that the Indian government is using the Sikh community as a political tool to further its own agenda and suppress dissent under the guise of national security.
