Pakistan strongly condemns Indian aggression, vows to defend sovereignty
Pakistan has strongly condemned what it calls a “blatant and unprovoked act of aggression” by the Indian Air Force, which it says violated Pakistan’s sovereignty through the use of stand-off weapons while remaining within Indian airspace.
According to official sources, India targeted civilian areas across the international border in Muridke and Bahawalpur, as well as across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kotli and Muzaffarabad in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The attacks reportedly resulted in the martyrdom of several civilians, including women and children, and pose a serious threat to commercial air traffic in the region.
“This cowardly act by India is a clear violation of the UN Charter, international law, and the established norms of inter-state conduct,” the statement read.
In the wake of the Pulwama incident, Pakistan accused Indian leadership of once again exploiting terrorism as a pretext to further its narrative of victimhood, thereby endangering regional peace and stability. Officials warned that India’s reckless behavior has brought two nuclear-armed states dangerously close to a major conflict.
The statement reaffirmed that Pakistan reserves the right to respond at a time and place of its choosing, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and international law.
“The Government, Armed Forces, and people of Pakistan stand united against Indian aggression,” the statement concluded, adding that Pakistan remains resolute in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity with iron resolve.
