The Army School of Music, a major institution within the Pakistan Army, recently hosted a two-day "National Music Conference" in Abbottabad. This event brought together prominent figures from Pakistan's music and drama industry, as well as university students from across the country.
Since its establishment in 1962, the Army School of Music has been instrumental in training soldiers in various musical disciplines. It has significantly contributed to promoting orchestral music in the public sector. The National Music Conference aimed to foster collaboration, innovation, and excellence in Pakistani music.
Renowned artists, including singer Ahmed Jahanzeb, actor Sarmad Khoosat were among the notable participants. Their presence highlighted the conference’s significance in the music community.
During the event, lively discussions and sessions allowed for the exchange of musical knowledge and experiences. Various suggestions were discussed to elevate Pakistani music to new heights. Participants praised the conference and the facilities at Abbott Music Studio, emphasizing its role in nurturing local talent.
Ahmed Jahanzeb expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Conferences like this should be held more often; it was a great experience. We are here to support Abbott Music Studio." Musician Syed Muhammad Imran Amu added, "One of the objectives of this conference is to highlight that we have made Pakistan's number one studio. This wonderful facility is for all Pakistanis."
Composer Ramsha Qureshi lauded Abbott Music Studio, saying, "There are great music studios worldwide, but Abbott Studio is the best with all necessary facilities. As a musician, I am very proud and happy to be here." Rabab singer Sudra Kanwal echoed this sentiment, noting, "Artists like us are getting a chance to learn, grow, and hone our talents here."
Playwright Sarmad Khoost highlighted the unique location of the studio, stating, "To study and teach music at the Abbott Studio in the foothills of a mountainous region like Abbottabad is a dream come true. Abbott Studio's environment and infrastructure are fantastic."
