Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday that the timely completion of ongoing federal development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remained a government priority.
According to details, the public representatives from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa met the prime minister in Islamabad. The meeting covered the province’s overall political situation, public issues, governance matters and the progress of federal development projects.
The prime minister said the federal government was fully aware of the problems faced by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and that serious measures were under way, within its mandate, to ensure sustainable solutions. He reiterated that the timely completion of federal development projects was a key priority.
Participants termed the performance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government unsatisfactory, citing weak governance and a lack of attention to public issues as serious concerns. The Prime Minister directed the public representatives to treat the resolution of public problems as a top priority.
He said the youth were a valuable national asset and that the merit-based laptop scheme would continue in the future.
During the meeting, the prime minister announced the formation of a committee under Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal. The committee will visit Peshawar to review the progress of federal projects.
