Renowned scriptwriter and satirist, Anwar Maqsood, vehemently dismissed circulating rumours on social media alleging his abduction, torture, and intimidation by unidentified individuals.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Maqsood expressed his frustration over the proliferation of false information, urging his followers to disregard the baseless claims.
Contrary to reports suggesting his ordeal, Maqsood clarified, "The news circulating on social media about me is baseless." Emphatically terming it as "fake news," he stressed his detachment from social media platforms, asserting, "I neither have any account on social media nor do I watch social media."
