The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday ordered an investigation by the country’s top spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to identify the person who leaked the alleged audio of Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi and senior AdvoCare Latif Khosa on social media platforms.
A writ petition was filed against the alleged audio leaks of Bushra Bibi and Latif Khosa.
The IHC Justice Babar Sattar issued a five-page written order asking that all available technologies be used to find out who leaked the audio in the first place.
The court has also ordered Pemra DG Law and PTA DG Law to appear in person at the next hearing.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the director general of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to present a report on who leaked the audio clip of a private conversation between former prime minister Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi and her lawyer Latif Khosa.
The high court was hearing a case against the leak of a phone call between the two. It also ordered the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to conduct a forensic exam of the audio clip.
The IHC also issued notices to the FIA, PEMRA and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and adjourned the hearing until December 11.
The court overruled the objections to the petition. Justice Babar Sattar asked what the registrar office’s objection to the application was. The lawyer replied that the objection was to file a separate application and not a miscellaneous one.
The IHC has said in a written order that DG Pemra should appear in the court with the code of conduct of the media, and the court should be told whether such audios can be aired on the national media.
The written order said DG ISI, FIA, and PTA should submit their reports within 10 days, and PTA should trace the account where the audio was first released.
The court said that the application and court order should be sent to ISI DG, PTA, FIA, and PEMRA.
The process of audio leaks gave the impression that the state may not have the capacity to stop leaks, the judge remarked.
In the written order of the Islamabad High Court, it is said that there is an impression that the state is failing to protect the fundamental rights of the citizens.
The Supreme Court has decided that if the fundamental rights of the citizens are violated, Consequences must also be borne.
Further hearing of audio leaks case will be held on December 20 in Islamabad High Court.
