Islamabad High Court's Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked about the challenges of living in Pakistan, stating that residing in the country is like a constant battle.
He emphasized that among the 240 to 250 million people, those involved in conflicts greatly outnumber those seeking to avoid them.
During a court proceeding on Tuesday, Justice Kayani commented on the state of governance, saying, "The judiciary is also a pillar of the state." However, he added, "The pillars of the state seem to be floating in the air, yet I am not hopeless."
He stated, "Anyone above 45 years old, including myself, is useless. It is the youth who have to do something for this country."
Justice Kayani further observed that the judiciary, parliament, and executive institutions have all collapsed.
Later in a session of the National Assembly, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq took exception to the judge's remarks, calling them "unacceptable".
"Today, a media report surfaced in which a judge mentioned parliament, stating that both the executive and judiciary have collapsed. No one has the right to make statements against parliament, as it is our privilege," the speaker stated, adding that if the report is correct, the law minister should convey a clear message to the judge that such remarks are unacceptable to parliament.
