The Lahore High Court on Monday heard a petition challenging the recently enacted Kite Flying Act 2025 but declined to suspend its implementation at this stage.
The petition was taken up by Justice Malik Owais Khalid, who rejected the petitioner’s request to immediately stop the enforcement of the Kite Flying Act.
The court observed that the matter required further arguments before any interim relief could be considered.
Kite Flying Association made party
During the hearing, the court directed the petitioner to make the Kite Flying Association a respondent in the case. Complying with the court’s order, the petitioner added the association as a party to the proceedings.
The move was aimed at ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are represented before the court.
Hearing adjourned
After issuing necessary directions, the Lahore High Court adjourned further proceedings on the petition until January 16.
The court also summoned all parties to present their arguments at the next hearing, when the case will be taken up for further consideration.
