The Indian government has rejected visas for four US-based Pakistani-origin players ahead of the forthcoming T20I series.
According to details reported on Tuesday, serious visa issues have emerged ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026, with confirmation that Pakistani-origin players have not received Indian visas. Sources said the Indian authorities rejected visas for four Pakistani-origin players named in the United States squad.
The players affected are Ali Khan, Shayan Jahangir, Mohammad Mohsin and Ehsan Adil. Sources said the visas have not yet been issued. The development has raised questions over assurances previously given by the International Cricket Council (ICC) that all participating teams would receive Indian visas on time.
Sources said the problem is not limited to the United States. Pakistani-origin players in the squads of the UAE, Oman, Italy and Canada are also facing visa difficulties. Cricketers holding Pakistani passports, or those with links to Pakistan, are reported to be encountering serious obstacles in obtaining Indian visas.
Sources said the ICC had given assurances before the T20 World Cup that visa issues for all participating teams would be resolved in advance.
