The district administration of Islamabad has granted permission to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a rally in the capital on July 6.
This Islamabad High Court disposed of an application filed by the party's Amir Masood Mughal following the issuance of a No-Objection Certificate (NOC).
The Islamabad High Court hearing, presided over by Justice Babar Sattar, concluded with the state counsel informing the court about the NOC issued by the deputy commissioner. The rally is set to take place near Tarnol Chowk on July 6.
During the hearing, Justice Babar Sattar emphasized the administration’s approval for the rally, remarking, "The district administration has given you permission for the rally. You can't argue about everything."
Advocate Shoaib Shaheen, representing the PTI, argued that they were not issued an NOC, but the court only informed today, leaving insufficient time for the party to prepare for the event. Justice Babar Sattar responded, "Come on, you are a big party, you will gather people in a few hours. Now you want the DC to gather people for you too?"
The court's decision to dispose of the application marks the end of the legal hurdle for PTI, paving the way for their planned rally. The party now looks forward to mobilizing their supporters for the event scheduled for July 6.
