Public and private educational institutions across Sindh, including Karachi, will remain closed on January 17 as the provincial government has announced a holiday on the occasion of Shab-e-Miraj.
The Sindh Education Department issued an official notification confirming the closure of schools across the province.
The notification applies to all public and private schools and educational institutions operating under the department’s jurisdiction.
Closure to mark Shab-e-Miraj
The holiday has been announced to allow students, teachers and families to observe Shab-e-Miraj, a religious occasion commemorated by Muslims across the country. Educational activities will resume as per the regular schedule following the holiday.
School administrations have been advised to inform parents and students in advance to avoid confusion. Officials said the decision aligns with the provincial government’s annual holiday calendar and religious observances.
