Punjab Police issued new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Lahore Policemen barring them from traveling alone in uniform taking precautionary measures in the wake of target killing case of policemen in the provincial metropolis.
As per the new SOPs, police personnel will come on duty without office uniforms and officials posted in police stations will keep their uniforms in the police station. Police officers should not travel in uniform for necessary work.
The officers posted on guard duty including police station officials should ensure the implementation of the issued SOPs.
While the policemen have to go somewhere, at least two policemen should travel and officials must carry official weapons with them during travel.
