Pakistani fans are frustrated to some extent as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to announce the squad for World Cup 2023 scheduled to start in India from October 5. Therefore, we resorted to use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the job.
No wonder the delay in announcing the Pakistan squad for World Cup 2023 has set tongues wagging among the fans.
They believe that the selectors are having a hard time deciding who to pick because many of the players performed poorly in the Asia Cup.
Some of the players who could be on the 'chopping block' include Mohammad Haris, Wasim Junior, Usama Mir, and Faheem Ashraf. Hasan Ali and Abrar Ahmed are being considered as replacements.
Even though vice-captain Shadab Khan and Fakhar Zaman have been out of form for a while, they are expected to be selected for the World Cup squad. Naseem Shah is likely to miss the mega event due to injury.

However, only PCB and probably captain Babar Azam know who is in, or who is out until official announcement.
But there is something called AI that is 'deemed' more efficient than humans. So, we asked it to pick the team.
After all it was not our idea, former chief selector Muhammad Wasim came up with this suggestion that was apparently about World Cup squad selection because it was 'getting too late' for the fans.

The post on X went viral among Pakistani cricket fans in no time who left their reactions on it.
However, we thought of giving it a try!
Google Bard
We asked Google Bard to name 15-member squad of Pakistan Cricket team for ODI World Cup 2023 in India. Its response was:
We identified a couple of players who are not currently part of the team. Hence, we asked Google Bard to revise it [gave it a second chance to be fair].
Yes, like you, we also don't know which Zahid Mahmood is it talking about!
We tried this with another famous AI chatbot and probably your favourite, ChatGPT.
Here was its response to the same question.
ChatGPT seemed pretty much inefficient as it included Yasir Shah and Junaid Khan in the squad.. like really?
So, we decided to give it another chance and revised our command and [fingers crossed] hoped for a better response.
"I find some players in it who are not part of the team now.. Can you reset it with more current players?" You might say my command was 'not up to the mark' but it is called AI for a reason.. isn't it?
Seeing this response, it is no wonder why ChatGPT has been maintaining a streak of losing traffic.
