The Pakistan women’s cricket team squad for the upcoming tour to South Africa has been announced.
The Pakistan women’s side will tour South Africa from 10 February. Fatima Sana will continue to lead the team in both formats. Saira Jabeen and Humna Bilal have been included in the squad for the first time, while Ayesha Zafar, Gull Feroza, Tasmia Rabab and Najiha Alvi have returned to the One Day International squad.
Ayesha Zafar, Gull Feroza, Muneeba Ali, Nashra Sundhu and Aliya Riaz have been named in both formats. Diana Baig, Najiha Alvi, Sadaf Shamas and Syeda Aroob Shah are part of the ODI squad. Humna Bilal, Saira Jabeen, Tuba Hassan and Eyman Fatima have been included in the T20 squad.
The Pakistan team are preparing for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. A pre-series training camp will be held in Karachi from 1 to 6 February at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre.
All T20 matches against South Africa will be day-night fixtures. The T20 games will be played in Potchefstroom, Benoni and Kimberley. A 50-over warm-up match will take place in Kimberley before the ODI series. The ODI matches will be held in Bloemfontein, Centurion and Durban, with the second ODI scheduled as a day-night match.
The Pakistan Women’s Team will tour South Africa for a bilateral series after five years. The coaching staff includes mentor Wahab Riaz, along with Imran Farhat, Abdul Rehman and Abdul Majeed. Ayesha Ashar will serve as team manager, while Raza Rashid will be the media manager.
This is Pakistan’s first bilateral tour of South Africa since 2021. The Pakistan Women’s Team also took part in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa in February 2023. The tour is being viewed as an important phase in preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
