The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has marked a new milestone in navigation positioning with the successful launch of its most advanced navigation system during the Cholistan Desert Rally.
According to a spokesman for the Suparco, the modern Pak Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) navigation system has been introduced. The system demonstrated high accuracy and signal stability in desert conditions. The new technology showed marked improvement in position determination compared with conventional systems, while rally drivers gained exceptional benefit in accurate route tracking.
The Pak-SBAS will assist rescue and relief operations during disasters. It will provide safe and efficient navigation facilities in transport and aviation. In survey and mapping sectors, it will reduce positioning errors and costs. The advanced system will also strengthen public safety and enhance technical self-reliance.
