At the beginning of 2026, Google-owned YouTube deleted more than 4.7 billion views by removing low-quality, AI-generated videos, commonly referred to as 'AI slop' from its platform.
An initial report released in November 2025 by online video editing platform Kapwing had identified the 100 most-subscribed AI slop channels on YouTube. According to Kapwing’s latest findings, 16 of those channels have now been removed from the platform.
The deleted channels include CuentosFacianantes, known for producing low-quality Dragon Ball–themed videos, Imperiodejesus (Empire of Jesus), and Super Cat League. These channels have either been completely taken down from YouTube or have had all their content removed.
Collectively, the 16 channels had more than 35 million subscribers, with their videos accumulating over 4.7 billion views. Reports estimate that these channels were earning up to $10 million annually.
While some major AI-generated content channels identified in the list are still active on YouTube, their videos have also been removed. It is widely believed that YouTube is using its existing spam detection systems to carry out this crackdown as part of a broader effort to eliminate low-quality AI-generated content from the platform.
