Pakistan’s Under-19 World Cup campaign has reached a decisive stage, with the match against India turning into a do-or-die contest for a place in the semi-finals.
The International Cricket Council has issued detailed qualification criteria for Pakistan’s progression to the last four. According to the ICC, if Pakistan bat first, they must defeat India by a margin of at least 105 runs. In the event of a run chase, Pakistan will be required to score at a significantly faster rate to meet the necessary net run rate. If India set a target of more than 250 runs, Pakistan must reach the total within 29.4 overs or fewer.
Even if the target is lower, Pakistan will still need to maintain a high scoring pace to achieve the required net run rate, the ICC added.
