Security officials have dismissed reports of a major military operation in Tirah, stating during a media briefing in Karachi that only intelligence-based actions are currently being carried out in the area.
During the briefing, security sources said no large-scale military operation is taking place in Tirah. They emphasized that reports suggesting otherwise are false and baseless propaganda.
Officials clarified that there has been no increase in the number of troops deployed anywhere in Tirah.
Only intelligence-based operations
According to security sources, only intelligence-based operations are being conducted in Tirah. These operations have been ongoing for the past three years against militant groups such as Fitnaul Khawarij and Fitnaul Hindustan.
They said action is taken strictly on the basis of verified intelligence information and not through indiscriminate or broad military action.
Security officials said these intelligence-led operations will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated. They added that the nexus between terrorists and criminal elements has been exposed through ongoing actions.
Officials stressed that no narrative or propaganda campaign can create a rift between the army and the people.
No troop surge or new checkposts
The briefing confirmed that no new checkposts have been set up in Tirah for people entering or leaving the area. Security sources also noted that there has been no change in the existing security posture.

They added that current weather conditions are not suitable for any major military operation in the region.
Tribal consultation
Security officials said all decisions related to operations are made in consultation with local tribal people and respected dignitaries. They emphasized that local traditions and ground realities are always taken into account before any action.
This consultative approach, they said, helps maintain trust between the people and security institutions.
Situation in Balochistan
During the briefing, security sources stated that Fitnaul Hindustan in Balochistan is an enemy of the province’s development. They claimed that the people of Balochistan have recognized those involved in terrorism who exploit feelings of deprivation.
Officials reiterated that terrorism and violence hinder development and stability in the region.
