Pakistan secured a comprehensive 90-run victory over Australia to take a 2-0 lead in the three-match T20 series at the at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday.
After winning the toss, Pakistan elected to bat first and posted an imposing total of 198 for five in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Salman Agha led from the front with a commanding 76 off 40 deliveries, striking eight fours and four sixes. He found valuable support from Usman Khan, who scored 53 from 36 balls, while Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz provided a brisk finish with an unbeaten stand.
Australia’s bowling attack struggled to contain Pakistan’s middle order, despite wickets shared among the bowlers. Adam Zampa was the most economical, conceding 27 runs in his four overs.
In reply, Australia faltered early and never recovered from regular losses of wickets. Abrar Ahmed dismantled the batting line-up with figures of three for 14, while Shadab Khan claimed three wickets of his own. Australia were dismissed for 108 in 15.4 overs, falling well short of the target.
The win gave Pakistan an unassailable advantage in the series, underlining their dominance at home.
