Indian media on Monday reported that the option of changing venues for Bangladesh’s matches within India is under consideration.
According to an Indian cricket website, the issue relates to the Bangladesh cricket team’s participation in the T20 World Cup and the possibility of not travelling outside India for its fixtures.
The website said the chances of Bangladesh’s matches being shifted to Sri Lanka are low. It added that alternative venues within India, including Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram, are under consideration for Bangladesh’s matches.
The report also said the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association and the Kerala Cricket Association are in contact with the ICC and the BCCI regarding the matter.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has requested that all its matches be moved to Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh’s matches are scheduled for February 7, 9 and 14 in Kolkata, and February 17 in Mumbai.
