Gold prices in the domestic market surged by Rs5,900 per tola on Monday, with the yellow metal being traded at Rs353,100 for 24-karat purity, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA).
The rate for 10 grams of 24-karat gold also climbed significantly, registering an increase of Rs5,058 to settle at Rs302,726. Similarly, 10 grams of 22-karat gold were priced at Rs277,508, reflecting a rise of Rs4,636.
In the international market, gold prices gained $59 per ounce to reach $3,347, mirroring the bullish trend seen in domestic trading. Analysts attributed the rally to renewed investor interest in safe-haven assets amid global economic uncertainties.
Despite the sharp rise in gold rates, silver prices remained unchanged. Silver was traded at Rs3,456 per tola and Rs2,962 per 10 grams, maintaining stability in both domestic and international markets.
The global silver rate stood at $32.98 per ounce.
