In a strong rebuke, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, and Head of the Pakistan Ulema Council, Maulana Tahir Ashrafi, have condemned the alliance of militant leader Noor Wali Khan with India, declaring it a threat to national unity.
Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad stated that Noor Wali, whom he referred to as a "Kharijite," is attempting to spread chaos through his alliance with India. “We will not allow the agenda of the Kharijites to succeed,” he said, adding that Noor Wali’s narrative has no backing from Islamic scholars.
“Taking up arms against the state has been declared un-Islamic. Whatever strategy the government adopts, the religious leadership will support it from the pulpit.”
Maulana Tahir Ashrafi echoed the sentiments, emphasizing that no Muslim can ally with forces hostile to Islamic nations.
“The Quran and Sunnah clearly distinguish between the group of believers and the group of disbelievers. Whoever stands with a group will be considered part of it,” he said.
Noor Wali Khan, a terrorist currently based in Afghanistan, is under fire for allegedly collaborating with India.
Religious leaders noted that Afghanistan is bound by agreements that prohibit its soil from being used against neighboring countries.
Both scholars reiterated that the unity and security of Pakistan is paramount and that extremist agendas will be firmly countered.
