Indian-based singer Adnan Sami has once again found himself at the center of social media debates after he showcased custom in-ear monitors featuring the Indian flag.
Adnan Sami, who gave up his Pakistani citizenship in 2016 and now lives in Mumbai, posted a photo on Instagram flaunting these specially designed monitors.
In his post, he shared that these in-ear monitors were custom-made by a U.S.-based brand specifically for his live concerts. He noted, “This is my second pair, and they sound phenomenal. I had the Indian flag design printed on them at my request.”
This move has sparked a fresh wave of criticism from Pakistani users who accuse Sami of going overboard to prove his loyalty to India. Meanwhile, many Indians have lauded his “patriotic” gesture, praising him for proudly displaying the Indian flag.
Critics argue that Sami’s repeated efforts to highlight his Indian citizenship seem forced and even hypocritical. They point out that he often resorts to such stunts to stay relevant in Indian media and to appease certain groups.
