The report said that WhatsApp is working to introduce status updates to the top app bar, allowing the users to gain access to status from the same place.
The top bar of the application is the section where the profile icon appears. Through this feature, the Status updates of contacts with whom a user chats most frequently would appear at the top of the chat tab. This would allow users to view Status updates without leaving the chat tab.
The report stated that the company is examining various methods to provide quicker access to Status updates. Alongside the app’s top bar, contacts’ Status updates would also appear in a row upon scrolling down within the chat bar.
The feature remains under trial, and it is difficult to state when it would be introduced for all users.
