Australia struggled to accept a heavy 90-run defeat as all-rounder Cameron Green raised an objection to the bowling action of Pakistan’s mystery spinner Usman Tariq.
Green, Australia’s top scorer with 35 runs, made a gesture while walking back to the pavilion after his dismissal, signalling “chucking” by flicking his arm. The moment drew attention on social media, where users viewed it as a protest against Tariq’s bowling action.
Usman Tariq has previously addressed questions over his action. In an earlier interview, he said that two visible bumps on his elbow contribute to his distinctive bowling style.
Commentator Ramiz Raja and Pakistani fans termed Green’s criticism as unjustified and labelled it as unnecessary complaining.
