US President Donald Trump said Iran was engaging seriously in talks with the United States and expressed hope that Tehran would reach an agreement acceptable to Washington.
He added that the United States does not share its political intentions with its Middle Eastern allies.
The US president stated that the plan was for Iran to continue negotiations, after which it would become clear what could be achieved. Otherwise, he remarked, developments would unfold as they may.
He said that India would purchase Venezuelan oil and that progress was under way towards a possible agreement between the United States and Cuba, with indications that both countries were nearing a deal.
President Trump warned that if Canada entered into any agreement with China, the United States would respond with a major and decisive measure. He stressed that Washington would safeguard its interests in all circumstances. On the issue of Greenland, he stated that negotiations had begun and that matters were close to being finalised.
