Mari Mining Company Private Limited, a subsidiary of Mari Petroleum Company Limited, has obtained two exploration licenses for mineral exploration in the Chagai district of Balochistan. The licenses, issued by the Directorate General of Mines and Minerals Balochistan, cover areas of 501 square kilometers and 513 square kilometers respectively.
Mari Petroleum, the parent company, is the second-largest natural gas producer in Pakistan and operates the country's largest gas reserves at the Mari Gas Field in Daharki, Sindh. The company boasts a 70% exploration success rate, significantly higher than other national and international companies in the sector.
This development follows a similar license acquisition by National Resources Limited, a subsidiary of Reliance Commodities Private Limited, for mineral exploration in the Chagai district.
Balochistan, rich in minerals and natural resources, has been experiencing rapid development due to efforts by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). The SIFC is committed to addressing Pakistan's energy crisis, with its initiatives expected to yield positive results in the coming years.
The new licenses reflect Mari Mining's commitment to mining projects and contributing to the development of Pakistan's mineral sector.
