Italian cinema legend Sophia Loren, 89, rushed to hospital for emergency surgery. As per Italy's media report, the Italian acting icon fell at her Swiss home on Sunday.
Sophia Loren, the acclaimed Italian actress, had won an Academy Award (Oscar) for her performance in the film "Two Women" (Italian title: "La Ciociara") in 1962. In the film, she portrayed the role of Cesira, a mother trying to protect her daughter during World War II.
This win for Best Actress made Sophia Loren the first actor or actress to win an Oscar for a non-English language performance.
