James Vince’s blistering 45-ball 65 helped the Karachi Kings eliminate the Multan Sultans in the 20th match of the tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Thursday.
According to details, while chasing a staggering 205-run target, the Sultans were bundled out inside the 17th over, scoring 117. Only two batters, Kamran Ghulam (29) and Yasir Khan (26), offered significant resistance with the bat.
Mohammad Rizwan (0), Usman Khan (1), Curtis Campher (12), Iftikhar Ahmed (8), Michael Bracewell (2), David Willey (2), Usama Mir (1), and Ubaid Shah (14) failed to show any resistance with the bat. Chris Jordan remained unbeaten on 14.
For the Kings, Mohammad Nabi (3-14) dominated the bowling attack, scooping up three wickets. Khushdil Shah (2-26) and Mir Hamza (2-15) took two wickets apiece. Aamer Jamal (1-14) and Abbas Afridi (1-31) took a scalp each. Fawad Ali (0-13) remained wicketless.
Earlier, after opting to bat first, the Kings got off to a fiery start, surpassing 50 inside the fourth over. Tim Seifert made his way back to the pavilion after scoring an 11-ball 22, slamming three boundaries and one six.
Kings captain David Warner played a scintillating knock, scoring a 13-ball 30, studded with four boundaries and two sixes. Irfan Khan scored a 33-ball 40, laced with two boundaries and three sixes. Khushdil Shah remained unbeaten on a 13-ball 33, studded with two boundaries and three sixes. Omair Yousuf (1) could not offer resistance.
For the Sultans, Ubaid Shah (2-49) took two wickets. David Willey (1-24) and Curtis Campher (1-27) took a scalp each. Usama Mir (0-27), Michael Bracewell (0-24), and Chris Jordan remained wicketless.
