Nasir bin Radan Al-Rashid Al-Wadaei, believed to be Saudi Arabia’s oldest living citizen, has passed away at the age of 142, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy spanning more than a century of the Kingdom’s history.
He is survived by 134 children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and had married for the last time at the age of 110.
According to a report by Gulf News, Nasir bin Radan was widely regarded as the oldest man in Saudi Arabia. His funeral prayers were held in Dhahran Al-Janoub, in the Kingdom’s southern region, where more than 7,000 people gathered to pay their final respects. He was later laid to rest in his ancestral village of Al-Rashid.
Born before the establishment of the modern Saudi state, Nasir bin Radan witnessed the reigns of every Saudi ruler - from the Kingdom’s founder, King Abdulaziz, to the current monarch, King Salman. His life spanned a period of profound political, social, and economic transformation in the country.
Family sources said that Nasir bin Radan was deeply religious and widely respected for his faith and devotion. Over the course of his long life, he is reported to have performed Hajj more than 40 times, earning him admiration within his community as a symbol of piety and perseverance.
The patriarch’s family is vast: his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren together number 134. He married for the final time at the age of 110 and is survived by a daughter from his last wife.
News of his passing quickly went viral across Saudi social media platforms, where users described him as a living embodiment of faith, resilience, and steadfastness, and paid tribute to a man whose life mirrored the modern history of Saudi Arabia itself.
