Renowned American supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid have publicly announced the discovery of a long-lost half-sister, Aydan Nix.
The sisters, known globally for their modelling careers and Palestinian heritage, revealed that their 23-year-old half-sister is the daughter of their father, real estate developer Mohamed Hadid, and a woman named Terri Hatfield Dull.
This relationship occurred after Mohamed Hadid’s divorce from Yolanda Hadid, the sisters’ mother, in 2001.
“Over 20 years ago, our dad, while single, had a brief relationship that led to a pregnancy,” Gigi and Bella said in the statement issued to Daily Mail. “Aydan was born and raised in Florida, growing up with the man she lovingly knew as her father until his sudden passing when she was 19.”
The sisters added that the family first connected with Aydan in late 2023 after she took a genetic test following the death of her father, which revealed her biological link to the Hadids. The introduction took place while Aydan was studying abroad in Paris.
“We’ve embraced Aydan with open arms and cherish this unexpected and beautiful addition to our family,” the sisters said. “She’s spent time with all of us, including our dad, and as siblings, we’ve had many open and loving conversations— with Aydan included — about how to support and protect her.”
The Hadids emphasized their respect for Aydan’s privacy and requested the public to honour her wish to remain anonymous as she continues her life in New York.
In addition to Gigi, 30, Bella, 28, and their brother Anwar, 25, Mohamed Hadid also has two older daughters, Marielle, 44, and Alana, 41, from his first marriage to Mary Butler.
